So I am back with a new storytelling series!
Since self-publishing the 100 Stories Book at the beginning of the year, I have been thinking of ways to further push open conversation surrounding the subject of cancer, by using the community I have built.
In July I released my 20th episode of the 100+ Podcast (a special episode where I explained the journey of the book and my ideas), which I thought was a good point to have a break! I really enjoyed chatting to every guest on the podcast and sharing their stories to a wider audience (thank you to all 1,000 listeners).
I am aiming for a second edition in the future (bring on 2021), but thought I should try some live storytelling to keep the conversation going.
Last night I launched the new Instagram Live Series, by interviewing Samina Hussain co-founder of Sakoon Through Cancer. We chatted for 20 minutes about her diagnosis and why she started the charity with her friend Iyna Butt. Sakoon’s vision is that “every person of South Asian Origin (POSAO) breast cancer patient can access local help and support that they need in a way that suits their culture, background and lifestyle.”
